After being caught speeding, Emma Watson, an actress best known for her role as Hermione in the Harry Potter series, was given a six-month driving penalty. The actor was ordered to pay £1,044 in total at the High Wycombe Magistrates’ Court for breaching the law, according to a BBC report.
According to the report, Emma drove a blue Audi in Oxford in July of last year at 38 mph in a 30 mph zone. The actor had nine points on her licence at the time of the speeding incident. Emma did not attend the High Wycombe Magistrates’ Court hearing. On behalf of the actor, her representatives were present.
Additionally, Mark Haslam, the actor’s attorney, informed the court that she is a student. “She is in a position to pay the fine,” he stated. Since 2023, the 35-year-old actor has been a student at Oxford. She has chosen to concentrate on her studies and follow her love of learning, which has led her to join in an Oxford graduate program.
This May, Emma Watson returned to the Cannes Film Festival for the first time in twelve years with a rare public appearance at the 2025 festival. She played a significant part in Little Women, directed by Greta Gerwig.
Watson has talked about the value of stepping away from acting and giving herself permission to pursue new passions and interests in previous interviews. For many years, Emma has also been actively involved in environmental conservation.
She frequently writes about protecting the environment so that human activity won’t cause it to collapse. Emma moderated a panel on climate change with climate activist Greta Thunberg at the 2021 United Nations Climate Change Conference in Glasgow, Scotland.
