Tom Cruise and Ana de Armas have reportedly called time on their romance after a whirlwind few months together.
Hollywood A-lister Tom Cruise has reportedly split from girlfriend Ana de Armas after just a few months of dating.
The Top Gun icon, 63, enjoyed a brief romance with the 37 year old actress following their initial romantic connection in February, with the pair initially attempting to maintain privacy around their relationship.
The duo were spotted on multiple occasions together and made their romance official during the spring period. However, new reports indicate they have called time on their affair after determining they function better as friends.
Two months later, Ana and Tom were spotted in the capital once more as they celebrated her birthday. A source told Mail Online that Cruise had been “showering Ana with gifts ever since they met.”
They added: “First, it started with her favourite flowers, then books he thought she would want to read because she’s an avid reader. As they got to know each other, the gifts became more personal – jewellery, designer clothes, and more.
“Probably the biggest gift he has given her is the freedom to travel anywhere in the world at a moment’s notice.”
Insiders suggest the relationship simply “ran its course” and “they aren’t dating anymore”, according to the Mirror. A source disclosed: “They just realised they weren’t going to go the distance and that they are better off as mates. The spark had gone between them, but they still love each other’s company, and they’ve both been really adult about it.”
A source told The Sun: “She’s already been cast in his next film, so they will continue to work together.” Tom and Ana ultimately confirmed their developing romance after months of speculation when they were photographed strolling hand-in-hand through Woodstock, Vermont.
The pair ambled down a quiet street accompanied by a small group of friends while holding hands. This public display of affection came shortly after the pair were seen in London, where they reportedly traveled via Tom’s private helicopter and attended one of the Oasis shows at Wembley Stadium.
Earlier this July, Tom and Ana were also photographed vacationing in Menorca, Spain, where cameras captured them relaxing together on a luxurious yacht, looking comfortable and close with one another.
While neither has officially confirmed a romantic relationship, their regular appearances together and joint travel plans have prompted many to wonder if they are more than just friends.
The two actors were first linked on Valentine’s Day after being seen sharing dinner in London. Their meeting was initially described as business-related, but their continued togetherness has sparked rumors.
Ana was previously thought to be romantically linked with Manuel Anido Cuesta, the stepson of Cuba’s president. Tom was previously linked to Russian socialite Elsina Khayrova and was also married to actress Nicole Kidman, who recently announced her unexpected split from husband Keith Urban after 19 years of marriage.
After parting ways with Tom, Nicole fell in love with American country singer Keith, and the couple got hitched in 2006. They later welcomed two daughters into their family.
However, just last month, it was revealed that the couple decided to end their marriage.
